it has been around since the church and the old city hall was constructed there. it was acquired in 1908 from the Catholic Church. Beautified in 1928 by Town President Rito dela Serna.

VETERANS MONUMENT

Aside from warrior chieftain Lapulapu, the island of Mactan raised other children who later became heroes. These are the World War II veterans, Filipino soldiers who fought side by side with American forces against the Japanese occupation forces.

The city government honors the Veterans Federation of the Philippines, Lapulapu and Cordova Post, through this monument erected at the Lapulapu City plaza.
